Thank you for visiting my Giedre's Guardians fundraising page supporting my sister and the 2024 KOMEN COLORADO MORE THAN PINK WALK.

On December 15th, 2021, my sister Giedre was diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma. Embodying resilience and strength, Giedre faced her diagnosis with an unyielding spirit. Despite a year of intense treatments—chemotherapy, radiation, surgery, and hormone therapy—she emerged not just as a survivor but a thriver. Now, in the early stages of remission, we are mindful that recurrence can happen years after treatment. Nevertheless, we remain optimistic, knowing that Giedre will confront any challenge with her characteristic determination and grace.

Driven by her ongoing battle and the urgent need to support the broader fight against breast cancer, I formed Giedre's Guardians to support the 2024 KOMEN COLORADO MORE THAN PINK WALK. Our aim is to honor Giedre and raise funds for Susan G. Komen's initiative to "save lives by meeting the most critical needs in our communities and investing in breakthrough research to prevent and cure breast cancer."

Fundraising is just one aspect of showing support. Giedre's Guardians will also demonstrate our commitment by participating in the event's two-mile walk. Although Giedre won't be with us, as she lives in Missouri, her courage, spirit, and story deeply inspire our mission. If you'd like to join us for the walk, we’d be thrilled to have you with us.
